Self-Consumption and Self-Sufficiency in Photovoltaic Systems: Effect of Grid Limitation and Storage Installation

This paper presents a methodology to maximize the self-sufficiency or cost-effectiveness of grid-connected prosumers by optimizing sizes photovoltaic (PV) systems and electrochemical batteries. In optimal sizing procedure, limitation on maximum injection in grid can affect energy flows, economic effectiveness investments, thus results. After explanation case study is presented, parametric analysis effect possible limits shown. The procedure applied size plants for an Italian domestic prosumer, whose electric load profile was measured year. A software program developed using proposed also briefly presented. It used both research educational purposes, laboratory classes remote lessons.
